Welcome to the new Yellow Pine, Idaho museum, an exhibition site, nonprofit organization, and website established in 2011. Even if you can't come in person to see the museum set up in the "University of Yellow Pine" (little red schoolhouse), this website will let you access some history of Yellow Pine and its surrounding area of the Central Idaho mountains… Enjoy your visit!

Before the era of local electricity, blocks of ice were harvested from the deep pool of the Ice Hole in Johnson Creek and housed in sawdust at the Yellow Pine store.

Here in this modern photo, the store is the largest red-roofed building, center left; the hotel is the darker red building with the light roof:
